BUILDERMT RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION SOFTWARE OVERVIEW


BuilderMT focuses exclusively on customizable residential construction software for large and medium-sized homebuilders. In the mid-1990s, Lakewood, Colorado-based BuilderMT developed Production Management; it was initially called ProHome and was powered by Timberline.

BuilderMT has carved out a successful niche in the diverse construction management software market by focusing exclusively on customizable residential construction software for large and medium-sized homebuilders.

In the mid-1990s, Lakewood, Colorado-based BuilderMT developed Production Management; it was initially called ProHome, the Homebuilder Management Solution, and was powered by Timberline. According to the vendor, this integrated application suite was built around a central module and strong financial systems. In 2002, Timberline began marketing BuilderMT's software as part of the Timberline Office solution for the residential builder under the name Production Management. The relationship continued following Sage Group's acquisition of Timberline in 2003.

BuilderMT currently has several residential construction software offerings.

The Workflow Management Suite, abbreviated WMS and also referred to as Sage Timberline Office Production Management, includes applications to help builders control construction costs, pinpoint the reason for a variance, manage labor costs and handle contracts, according to the vendor. Sales offices can also use WMS to communicate with purchasing and accounting, the vendor said. Finally, the suite includes modules for purchasing, pricing, construction scheduling (including wireless scheduling) and model management. Each module can also be purchased and used as a standalone product.

For its part, BuilderMT's ProDetail Estimating combines features from BuilderMT’s WMS software with a detailed estimating database for a powerful construction estimating software application, according to the vendor.

ProStart is a database construction accounting program includes general ledger, job cost accounting, purchasing and construction scheduling data, all of which is designed to work with WMS and Sage Timberline programs.

Trade Portal is a Web-based project management software application that gives homebuilders real-time communications with their trades about trade-specific information such as schedules, payments, purchase orders and notifications. Whenever a change is made in WMS, it is instantly communicated to the trades, which reduces the chance of miscommunication and lost messages, the vendor said.

Meanwhile, BuilderMT offers Business Process Management, or BPM, residential construction software designed to let homebuilders quickly and easily create automated processes for planning, building and managing business processes. BPM reduces costly programming needs and introduces new levels of control and accountability within the homebuilder's organization, according to the vendor.

Finally, Virtual Design Center, called VDSee, is a Web-based application that lets businesses create 3D images of buildings for viewing by customers, prospects, suppliers or sales agents.
