Primavera solutions are used by architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) companies as well as public and private owners to schedule and plan, negotiate change and increase collaboration to ensure projects are delivered on-time and on budget.

Continuing its 24-year endeavour to simplify project management, Primavera has released a new version of its flagship solution, P6, giving AEC companies and owners alike the ability to manage all their projects — from wherever they want, whenever they want — on the Web.

P6's combination of a fully redesigned, intuitive interface along with powerful functionality enables contractors and subcontractors to provide quick and easy progress updates to owners, while at the same time giving both organization types much more control and visibility into scheduling, resource optimization and capacity planning, improving their overall project performance.

The new capabilities of P6 include:

  • Collaborative scheduling and activity management: "Update" capability ensures all project participants are aware of what needs to be done, when it needs to be done, and which materials are required to get it done. Information can be shared with the field quickly and easily.
  • Interactive Gantt charts and improved graphics: Web-based charts and graphics are easy to deploy and easy to use, with a Windows® look and feel. They include popular features like drag-and-drop to change timescale, click-to-snap timescale to activity dates, zoom timescale to fit and options for configuring columns, grouping, filters and bar formats.
  • Integrated job costing: Users are able to review budgets and evaluate the potential impact of change orders on a project's cost — all in one place, helping them to plan more effectively.
  • Powerful dashboards: Through the use of fully configurable dashboards, all participants have exactly the information they need at their fingertips for fully informed decision making.
  • Extended reporting and analytics: Users can now run analytics and create reports (using any third-party reporting tool) on all project and portfolio data.
