Procore Software Review: Culp Construction

Review Summary
Before purchasing Procore software, high-end and residential construction firm Culp Construction created a veritable paper trail in the course of its many projects. Since implementing the construction project management software about one to two years ago, the firm has seen its bottom line increase while cutting back on time-consuming administrative chores.
"We make more money and are a lot more efficient," said Taylor Maxfield, who is one of more than 10 people who use the software at Culp Construction. "We use the product to efficiently and easily detail the intricacies of construction including the schedules, notification of changes, daily logs, day-to-day communication and any issues that could be considered cost-impact items."
With a price under $5,000, Procore software was worth the investment and, in at least one instance, was responsible for a boost to the company's bottom-line, Maxfield said. "We had a job that the owner did not want to pay for additional work," he said. "We were lucky that the job was on Procore because the documentation made it an easy case for us to settle."
User support, whether it is from the developer's help desk or via its user documentation, is helpful, Maxfield said, especially when it comes to guiding users through all the software's capabilities.
Overall, Maxfield rated Procore software a perfect 10 out of 10.

We've been using Procore software for about two years.
Culp Construction does commercial, institutional and residential construction.
We bought it through a Procore Technologies sales representative.
I do not have the specific numbers, but I think we bought the original setup for around $3,000 to $5,000. (Procore's rates vary depending on the number of, and size of, construction projects for which a contractor is using the software.)
We use the product to efficiently and easily detail the intricacies of construction including the schedules, notification of changes, daily logs, day-to-day communication and any issues that could be considered cost-impact items.
We liked Procore's ease of use and the fact that it's Internet-based -- it can be accessed by anyone anywhere.
Yes.
No. We were using a paper-based system.
More than 10 people at Culp Construction are using Procore software.
We make more money and are a lot more efficient.
We had a job in which the owner did not want to pay for additional work. We were lucky that the job was on Procore because the documentation made it an easy case for us to settle.
Procore is an effective medium for the three things in construction that are most important: notification, notification and notification. Not having to hunt down documentation is a huge savings. The time saved is immeasurable. We have gone from a paper-based daily report to paperless daily reports; that alone has saved us a huge amount of effort. We can resource documentation so much easier that it is a night and day difference.
I'd say the communications and daily reports are the best features for us.
Absolutely!
There is so much that I don't know about the new system that it is hard for me to comment. I basically use the older version. Ask me this in a year and I will give a more accurate answer.
I don't use the Submittal tab on the old system.
I would suggest Procore to any general contractor.
You should have medium skill level to fully utilize the system. To use the simple features, you only need to understand how to use email.
It didn't take much effort, but it did take about a week to learn what the system was capable of. I have not yet learned all of the new features offered on the Ruby on Rails system.
Yes, and they are very helpful.
I'd give it a very high rating. It's very helpful.
Yes.
10.
