COMPUTEREASE JOB COST ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE OVERVIEW

Cincinnati-based ComputerEase Inc. was formed after a contractor and CPA combined their knowledge to create construction project management and job cost accounting software. The company's eponymous product, ComputerEase, is a toolset used to facilitate the tasks of many project members, the vendor said.

The Financial Center provides the owner a job summary that includes profit and loss statements, a balance sheet, cash flow, reports and other programs.

For the project manager, the Job Center interface reports an overview on an entire project. It also monitors detailed information such as profitability, cash position, utilities, reports and exceptions.

For payroll, the payroll function of this job cost accounting software updates burden and fringe costs, general ledger, equipment records and billing.

For procurement, the Subcontractor Center provides an inventory and purchase order module that transfers information to and from purchase orders so that inventory and job costing data is up to date.

For accounts receivable there is an application of the same name; this has a billing system that integrates time and materials, contract and AIA data, unit pricing and collections.

The Service Management gives the service manager controls for construction scheduling, work orders and service contract tracking.

Finally, for the equipment manager, the Equipment Center displays machinery information such as hourly costs for maintenance, utilities and usage.

ComputerEase is written in Visual C++ and therefore is compatible with Windows, Microsoft Office and ODBC-complaint report writers, according to the vendor. (ODBC is an open standard for database access that is also known as Open Database Connectivity.) For support, ComputerEase Inc. offers on-demand courses and Web-based educational seminars, the company said.
