HARD DOLLAR CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE OVERVIEW
Just as a construction site requires multiple disciplines, provided by an array of suppliers and craftsmen, some software vendors are developing products specifically designed to integrate other providers' applications in order to create a more complete technology solution.
Hard Dollar Corp. is one such firm. It integrates its estimating and job costing programs with construction management software from industry leaders such as Autodesk, Primavera, Sage and Viewpoint; the firm also partners with software leaders such as Intuit and Microsoft. Overall, Hard Dollar's budget- and performance-based construction management software has been used around the globe to manage projects totaling more than $1 trillion, according to the vendor.
The Scottsdale, Arizona-based vendor recently unveiled Hard Dollar version 2008.1, which is designed to ease the transfer of project information through additional integration points with Microsoft and Primavera software.
Enhancements to Hard Dollar integration with Primavera give end users the ability to do the following:
• create a new job from an existing Primavera project so that customers can leverage project scope and WBS information already entered in Primavera, and retain construction schedule logic while using Hard Dollar to produce a detailed estimate and budget for the project
• map Hard Dollar tags to Primavera fields
• manage duration discrepancies between Hard Dollar and Primavera
• add and maintain activities in Primavera that are not affected by synching with Hard Dollar
• transfer Hard Dollar account codes to Primavera
On the Microsoft front, Hard Dollar formally supports Microsoft Office 2007, Microsoft Project 2007, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and Windows Vista.
