COBRA CONSTRUCTION COST ESTIMATING SOFTWARE OVERVIEW
Deltek Inc.'s project management and construction cost estimating software has been put into play by more than 12,000 clients in construction, professional services and other project-based businesses since the company was founded in 1983. Deltek's applications address expense reporting, human resources administration, materials management, customer management and sales force automation.
According to Deltek, its Cobra suite was designed, broadly speaking, to streamline project processes and methods, to improve collaboration and to assure that project, IT and corporate governance guidelines are met. Specifically, Cobra is built to accomplish tasks such as construction cost estimating, calculating status and earned value, managing construction schedule changes and creating reports. The components of the Cobra suite integrate with each other and interoperate with tools from partners such as Microsoft and Cognos, according to the vendor.
Deltek designed the Cobra suite to meet rigorous construction cost estimating and management requirements, including the strict Earned Value Management System (EVMS) standard required by the United States government.
