Windows-based QuickMeasure takeoff software allows a construction estimator to perform takeoffs from blueprints. By simply clicking on the desired measuring function (Line, Area, Segment, or Count) and touching the digitizer pen to the blueprint, QuickMeasure displays a picture of exactly what has been measured and stores it as a digitized graphic. Construction estimators can print this picture or store it on a CPU for future reference, the vendor said.
QuickMeasure OnScreen, also based on Windows and offering an Excel-based interface, lets a construction estimator perform takeoffs directly from an image displayed on a computer screen. By clicking on the image displayed on the screen, the solution generates area, lengths and count measurements. Quantities are accumulated in the QuickMeasure OnScreen application or can be sent directly to a user's existing Excel spreadsheet, according to the vendor.
