Users can manage multiple projects in one Microsoft SQL Server database and generate summary reports and queries across all projects for view by the appropriate executives -- allowing them to make decisions based on accurate, current data, the vendor said.

QuickMeasure by Tally Systems

Windows-based QuickMeasure takeoff software allows a construction estimator to perform takeoffs from blueprints. By simply clicking on the desired measuring function (Line, Area, Segment, or Count) and touching the digitizer pen to the blueprint, QuickMeasure displays a picture of exactly what has been measured and stores it as a digitized graphic. Construction estimators can print this picture or store it on a CPU for future reference, the vendor said.

QuickMeasure OnScreen by Tally Systems

QuickMeasure OnScreen, also based on Windows and offering an Excel-based interface, lets a construction estimator perform takeoffs directly from an image displayed on a computer screen. By clicking on the image displayed on the screen, the solution generates area, lengths and count measurements. Quantities are accumulated in the QuickMeasure OnScreen application or can be sent directly to a user's existing Excel spreadsheet, according to the vendor.

Co-construct Web-based project management software features a selection sheet, which is designed to prevent errors and keep clients on track, the vendor said. This sheet includes information on deadlines, budgets and vendor quotes; it is customizable by the builder. An expense and change-order capability shows clients the cost-changes related to any changes in the design. Builders can easily create multiple client selections, add any fees, and post it for the client's viewing; this eliminates the time-consuming, costly task of faxing, the vendor said.
