PlanSwift construction estimating and takeoff software program lets users work on, manage and share scanned or CAD blueprints, thus generating estimates and take-offs. PlanSwift users can import plans created as TIF, PDF, DXF, DWG, PLN and JPG files, among others. PlanSwift software does not require the use of a digitizer device, the vendor noted.

With PlanSwift, users can calculate square and lineal footage, pitch and angles in seconds by clicking on the screen. Users can then export their PlanSwift data to an Excel spreadsheet with the click of a button. The takeoff software also allows users to quickly calculate the cost of labor and materials using customizable assemblies and material lists with PlanSwift’s built-in Excel-like formulas.

In October, Henderson, Nevada-based PlanSwift released version 8.4, which now includes Live Excel integration; this enables users to utilize spreadsheets that they may already have to make automated templates, the vendor said. Integration with Excel also simplifies report production and reduces users' needs for technical support and training, the vendor said.

PlanSwift 8.4 also lets construction professionals use object, linking and embedding (OLE) for budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, consolidation and modeling.
