In an industry full of specialized niches, eSUBCONTRACTOR (or eSUB) has carved out its own by designing and selling TRACKpoint, a Web-based project management software system specifically for sub-contractors. The tool was designed to enable subcontractors to be proactive with project documentation and tracking, the San Diego-based vendor said.
In addition to its Web-based project management software, eSUB has a number of user groups, offers education and consulting to sub-contractors, and provides a wide array of training and support options.

TRACKpoint runs on any desktop using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher. It features three modules -- project management, timecard management and corporate management. Prospective buyers can view a three-minute video on the eSUB website; live online demonstrations also are available.
TRACKpoint's project management module addresses RFIs, daily reports, change orders, purchase orders, submittals, transmittals, pay applications and correspondence. Subcontractors can save data in Microsoft Word, Excel or Outlook formats simply by hitting the "Save Data" button; this, the vendor said, cuts down on data entry errors. Finally, since this is a Web-based project management software tool, users can log into the centralized database of project tracking, updates, to-do lists and documents using any computer.
TRACKpoint's timecard module allows users to enter individual or batch timecards across one or multiple projects and, with one click, export the data into the users' construction accounting software. Using the tool's drill-down features, management can track efficiency levels on all projects, systems, phases and activities, all the way down to individual workers, the vendor said. As a result, a company can determine productivity and estimated vs. true labor costs.
Finally, TRACKPOINT's corporate management application lets executives view both company-wide and individual project reports, allowing them to track a subcontractor's overall documentation and efficiency.
