Real-time collaboration brings together disparate teams in different locations, thereby simplifying and speeding up the decision-making process, and reducing the risk of error and going over budget, according to the vendor. Users can electronically route requests for information, submittals, transmittals, meeting minutes, change orders and other documents. Finally, the Web-based project management software centrally stores data on multiple companies and automatically tracks communications between partners, customers and the contractor.
Construction firms can select from the Professional, Collaborator or Enterprise editions. Enterprise is designed to be used out of the box, without any or much customization before launch, while Collaborator is a Web-based construction administration, change management and collaboration tool used by larger construction and program management firms. Lastly, eBuilder Professional is a Web-based document management and collaboration tool for architects, engineers and contractors.
If a company already has construction project management software systems in place, e-Builder said its software can be set up to meet its existing approach to business. However, if a company feels its internal processes could use improvement, the vendor provides professional services that incorporate its Web-based project management software with general business best practices.
