In doing so, the software compares budgeted vs. actual labor costs and uses a color-coded system to show owners and project managers as well as estimators if they are achieving, outperforming, or falling behind the estimated production rates, according to the vendor. With this data, production adjustments can be made to prevent cost overruns.

Once a project is finished, this project cost control software provides a labor productivity analysis, broken down by cost code, which cost estimators can use to prepare future bids.
