BuildIT software uses templates to create and manage documents such as estimates, proposals, specs and drawings; all documents are tied to a specific job name and are searchable, according to the vendor. By using templates, contractors can quickly generate documents that can be shared via fax, email, or text message, the vendor said.

These templates are also used to schedule work; this can be done based on a project's start date, due date, duration or set of predefined work days, the vendor said. Schedule templates can also be used to schedule groups of tasks, assign tasks to contacts saved within the BuildIT system, and copy schedules from one job to another.

In addition to this core functionality, BuildIT offers customization options such as the following:

• With the Quick Schedule Turnaround Package, BuildIT Systems will take information about a contractor's schedule -- whether in paper or digital format, saved in a spreadsheet or recited over the phone -- and create a PDF schedule.
• Through the Document Template feature, a contractor can send any and all forms -- including transmittals, change orders, work orders and specs -- and BuildIT Systems will upload them into the contractor's BuildIT software account.
• With Schedule Templates, users can send punchlists, checklists, schedules and the like in order to have them converted into schedule templates.
