Viewpoint Construction Software launches channel partner program
In response to high sales volume, Viewpoint Construction Software has created a Channel Partner Program, a hybrid channel strategy that allows both direct and reseller channels the opportunity to sell Viewpoint software.
“At the beginning of this year, part of our strategic plan going forward was to now take advantage of our market leading position with our software,” explained Jim Paulson, chief operating officer for Viewpoint Construction Software, noting that 2008 was a record year and that 2009 sales are expected to be up 15%. “To be able to extend that further, and in order to do that in a more aggressive growth manner, we felt that we needed to partner with other channel partners in the industry.”
The channel partner program, launched in mid-September, has since announced Source One Solutions as its first official partner. The company, owned by Paul Krieger and Tom Norris, will serve customers in Philadelphia, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Delaware and Virginia.
Both Krieger and Norris have more than 20 years’ experience selling and installing construction software. This matters, said Miles Haladay, channel sales manager at Viewpoint: “In our market it’s difficult for us to find sales people who have a well-grounded background in construction and construction software.”
According to Paulson, Viewpoint Construction Software is expected to sign four other companies to the channel partner program in the coming month.
“We have more people seeking us out than we have territories for,” said Paulson. At the same time, he added, “There’s a limited number of distributorships available…We’re going to be pretty selective.”
