iSqFt acquires Plan Express
iSqFt, a Cincinnati-based company that provides contractors and suppliers across the country with online tools for preconstruction management, has announced its purchase of the technology and key assets of Plan Express Inc., which manages, prints, reproduces and distributes construction documents, plans and contracts.
“It came up very quickly,” iSqFt President and CEO Dave Conway said of the acquisition. “Plan Express has an existing network of trusted partners and it’s our thoughts that we could expand service to our existing customers and potentially acquire new customers as a result of the acquisition.”
Both Plan Express and iSqFt follow a software as a service business model and provide customers with a Web-based service that takes advantage of a nationwide network of reprographers. This network makes it easy to get paper or electronic plans to subcontractors in multiple locations, anywhere in the country.
According to Conway, the biggest benefit for current iSqFt customers is access to additional services. For those who use Plan Express, a stronger application with a broader national network will be available at their fingertips, he said.
The acquisition is a work in progress. “Were actively meeting with Plan Express customers to see if we can do anything to strengthen our relationship with them,” Conway said.
