EPOCH CONSTRUCTION COST MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

Faithful+Gould has provided commercial, consulting and program management services for more than 60 years. Its customers include General Mills, which recently selected Faithful+Gould to act as the construction project management firm for a new plant being built in California, and the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation, which is using a construction cost control system to monitor expenses against budget by funding source.

In addition to offering construction services, Faithful+Gould developed Epoch, a program for managing, estimating and tracking construction costs that is both used and sold by the Manhattan-based firm. Faithful+Gould looked at other tools on the market, but "we could not find anything available commercially that fit our business model," said Paul Lakin, director of operations.

"We now have a suite of construction project management software used by all our divisions around the world, which provides us with a common platform to use and share data," Lakin said. "With EPOCH, our cost-management tools are very detailed and provide enhanced reporting and earned-value reviews."

Faithful+Gould also designs customized solutions; generated reports can stand alone or be integrated with widely used financial and project accounting systems such as Oracle and SAP.
