A key player in the Canadian energy-construction arena, Bantrel turned to the in-house technology experts at its parent company, Bechtel, to create engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project management software to meet its account-management and budgeting needs. Today, construction professionals throughout the company use EPCWorks to cut back on time-consuming and error-prone data entry.
EPCWorks is an Engineering Progress and Performance Reporting (EPPR) system. It plays an integral role in Bantrel’s refining operations, which address maintenance, infrastructure revamps and turnarounds, not to mention design and construction of complex new facilities, according to the Calgary, Alberta-based firm.
Although EPCWorks was a custom creation, this construction project management software integrates tightly with off-the-shelf, including general business programs such as SAP and Microsoft Office, and construction-industry staples, according to one Bantrel employee. It is also compatible with the company's internal engineering, procurement and accounting software programs.
